Day by Day

You will be picked up from your hotel in Mombasa, Diani Beach, or South Coast and begin your guided Mombasa City Tour.

The tour starts at Fort Jesus, built by the Portuguese in 1593 to guard the entrance to the Old Harbour. Today it stands as a museum displaying fascinating coastal artifacts and historical exhibits that tell the story of Mombasa’s past.

From here, proceed to Mombasa Old Town, famous for its maze of narrow streets, carved wooden doors, Arab architecture, goldsmiths, and curio shops. You will also visit a Hindu Temple, reflecting the city’s multicultural heritage.

Next, visit the Akamba Handicraft Cooperative Society, where over 1900 members produce a wide variety of beautiful and reasonably priced wood carvings and souvenirs.

Continue to the local fruit and spice market to experience daily coastal life before heading north of the city to Haller Park, a former quarry transformed into a thriving nature sanctuary.

At Haller Park, enjoy guided walks and take part in the feeding of giraffes, crocodiles, and hippos, while learning about conservation and rehabilitation efforts.

After a short shopping stop, you will be driven back to your hotel in the late afternoon.
