Day by Day
Day 1 Mombasa to Tsavo West
Depart early from your coastal hotel in Mombasa or Diani and drive to Tsavo West National Park via the Mombasa Nairobi Highway.
Enter the park through Tsavo River Gate and begin game viewing along the palm lined Tsavo River, home to hippos and crocodiles.
Check in and enjoy lunch at Rhino Valley Lodge.
In the afternoon, visit the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary in search of the rare black rhino.
Dinner and overnight at Kilaguni Serena Lodge or Rhino Valley Lodge.
Day 2 Tsavo West to Taita Hills Salt Lick
After breakfast, depart the lodge and visit the famous Mzima Springs, where crystal clear water flows from the Chyulu Hills lava creating pools filled with hippos and crocodiles.
After the visit, drive out of Tsavo West and proceed to Taita Hills Sanctuary.
Enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Salt Lick Wildlife Sanctuary, famous for its lion prides. Other animals commonly seen include elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, impalas, baboons, warthogs and waterbucks.
Dinner and overnight at Sarova Salt Lick Safari Lodge.
Day 3 Salt Lick to Mombasa
After an early breakfast, enjoy a final game drive as you exit the sanctuary.
Before midday, stop for lunch at Lion Hill Camp or in Voi town.
After lunch, proceed back to Mombasa, arriving in the afternoon at your coastal hotel.
