Day by Day
Day 1 Mombasa to Tsavo East
Depart early from your coastal hotel in Mombasa for Tsavo East National Park.
Begin a morning game drive in Kenya’s largest park with a chance to see herds of red elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, gazelles, buffaloes, leopards, waterbucks, impalas and numerous bird species.
Check in at your lodge and enjoy lunch.
In the afternoon, continue game drives and climb Mdanda Rock, a volcanic feature used as a tannery by colonialists. From the rock, enjoy panoramic views over a hippo pool and resting spots for lions.
Dinner and overnight at Voi Safari Lodge or Ashnil Aruba Lodge.
Day 2 Tsavo East to Tsavo West
After breakfast, depart for a morning game drive en route to Tsavo West National Park.
Arrive at the lodge for lunch and relax. In the afternoon, visit Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary to search for the rare black rhino.
Dinner and overnight at Rhino Valley Lodge or Kilaguni Serena Lodge.
Day 3 Tsavo West to Amboseli
After breakfast, visit Mzima Springs where approximately 250 liters of water gush daily from the Chyulu lava flows, creating scenic pools with hippos and crocodiles.
Drive out of Tsavo West via the Shetani Lava Flows to Amboseli National Park.
Lunch at Amboseli Sentrim Lodge.
Enjoy afternoon game drives in Amboseli with Mount Kilimanjaro as a backdrop while searching for lions, cheetahs, buffaloes, rhinos and elephants. Plenty of plains game will also be seen.
Dinner and overnight at Amboseli Sentrim Lodge or AA Lodge.
Day 4 Amboseli to Taita Hills Salt Lick
After breakfast, drive while exiting Amboseli National Park and proceed to Taita Hills Sanctuary.
Arrive for lunch and leisure at the lodge.
Enjoy an afternoon game drive in Taita Hills (Salt Lick) Sanctuary, famous for its lion prides. Other wildlife includes elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, impalas, baboons, warthogs and waterbucks.
Dinner and overnight at Sarova Saltlick Safari Lodge.
Day 5 Salt Lick to Mombasa
After an early breakfast, enjoy a final game drive as you exit the sanctuary.
Stop for lunch at Voi town.
After lunch, proceed to Mombasa, arriving at your coastal hotel in the evening.
