Day by Day
Day 1 Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve
Pick up from your hotel in Nairobi and drive north across the Equator to Samburu National Reserve (360 km).
Check in to your lodge for lunch, then relax before your afternoon/evening game drive in the open savannah.
Dinner and overnight at Samburu Serena Lodge or Elephant Bedroom Camp.
Day 2 Full Day in Samburu
Morning and afternoon game drives along the Uaso Nyiro River, populated with hippos and crocodiles.
Spot rare northern species such as Gravy’s zebra, Reticulated giraffes, and long-necked gerenuk, as well as lions, cheetahs, elephants, and other plains game.
Optional visits to Samburu villages for cultural immersion.
Overnight at Samburu Serena Lodge or similar.
Day 3 Samburu to Aberdares
After breakfast, drive south to the Aberdare Ranges (220 km), stopping for lunch at Outspan Hotel, with scenic views of Mount Kenya framed by the Chania River.
Transfer to Treetops Lodge, the world-famous treetop lodge overlooking a waterhole and saltlick. Enjoy afternoon wildlife viewing.
Overnight at Treetops Lodge.
Day 4 Aberdares to Lake Nakuru
Early morning breakfast at Outspan Hotel before descending into the Great Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru National Park.
Arrive for lunch at Lake Nakuru Lodge, then enjoy an afternoon game drive around the lake. Look for flamingos, pelicans, rhinos, giraffes, and waterbucks.
Dinner and overnight at Lake Nakuru Lodge, Mbweha Camp, or similar.
Day 5 Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara
Drive to Masai Mara National Reserve (320 km), stopping for lunch at Keekorok Lodge, strategically located for excellent wildlife viewing.
Enjoy an afternoon game drive exploring the Mara plains, spotting lions, elephants, zebras, wildebeests, and other plains game.
Dinner and overnight at Keekorok Lodge or similar tented camp.
Day 6 Full Day in Masai Mara
Optional early morning hot air balloon safari over the Mara followed by a bubbly bush breakfast, or enjoy an early morning game drive followed by breakfast at the lodge.
Relax by the pool overlooking the endless Mara plains, then head out for an afternoon game drive to continue wildlife spotting.
Dinner and overnight at Keekorok Lodge or similar.
Day 7 Masai Mara to Nairobi
After breakfast, enjoy a last game drive while exiting Masai Mara.
Drive back to Nairobi and drop off at your hotel or airport, concluding the safari.
